Comedy Night returns

On 25 September, PPG Canalside will proudly present a night filled with laughter as three of the country’s comedians take to the stage.

Comedian Tony Jameson hosted Huddersfield Town’s first comedy night last year as part of his first UK tour. After the success of last year, Jameson returns to the stage alongside two fellow comedians, Sam Gore and Matt Richardson.

Opening the show is Sam Gore, a comedian who has worked his way through the comedy ranks and won five ‘New Act of the Year’ titles. Alongside his work as a stand-up comedian, he is also a hugely accomplished writer. He has worked on BBC3’s ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ and the Tape Face Tapes, as well as writing for BBC Radio 4’s ‘The Show What You Wrote’. Steve Bennett from Chortle described Gore as “a class act” and “the jokes are as cruel as they are funny”.

Tony Jameson returns to PPG Canalside with his quick wit, high energy, and vivid imagination. Tony is no stranger to the festival circuit, having performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Glasgow Comedy Festival, and Dave’s Leicester Comedy festival numerous times. He recently completed his first ever UK tour, performing his debut Edinburgh Fringe Show, ‘Football Manager Ruined My Life’, to sold out rooms across the country.

Headlining the evening is a comedian who has become a household name in the last year due to his role on The Xtra Factor, Matt Richardson (pictured). He began his career at the age of 18 and since then he has established himself as one of the UK’s most exciting young performers and presenters. Some of his work includes appearances on BBC Radio 2 as part of ‘Russell Kane’s Whistle Stop Tour’ and his TV credits include, hosting alongside Caroline Flack on ITV2’s The Xtra Factor, Celebrity Juice, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Big Brother’s Bit on the Side and many others. Matt finished his first UK stand up tour earlier this year. Richardson is described by The Guardian as “The Future of Comedy”.

Tickets are priced at £12 or £15 if you wish to include a pie and pea supper.
